For Mush party 3 I'm wearing a Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop dress over a Ghost shirt the colour of Matt Dillon's prom night puke + my new DM chelsea boots. I'm BOILING. Oh and a blue fluffy tiara obvz x

THE FIRST (AND LAST) TIME.
I can't quite believe I'm writing this, but my degree is finished. My dissertation is painstakingly double spaced, paginated, bound, covered, and plonked on the hand-in desk at my university. After three years of reading, reading, and well, not reading, I can say whole-heartedly that I ploughed through Ulysses and understood it. Sort of. Anyway I thought this example of having done something for the first time, would be the perfect subject of a post I'm doing to support the new Eastpak campaign, which you can check out HERE.
I don't know if Eastpak intentionally stalked me and decided upon their 'When was the last time you did something for the first time' tagline, but it's a very happy coincidence. Over the past few months I really have fallen in love with my backpack all over again, using it to lug what felt like 78 books on different interpretations of gender in D.H. Lawrence (answer: not great) to the library and back every day. And finishing my dissertation is definitely something I've done for the first and only time.
Completing a piece of research this big was actually weirdly emotional. Spending so much time surrounded by books working on something which was totally my own, felt like less of an assignment, and more like a personal goal. Though the mental strain and sleepless nights were often unbearable (for everyone else, my poor boyfriend), holding 40 pages of your own writing in your hands plus a badass illustration on the front, is a feeling unlike any other.
God this is starting to sound a bit like an Oscar acceptance speech. Sob. No but seriously, it's a really big deal for me. And if you happen to be at school or university and feeling a bit demotivated, remember that you're embarking on something pretty amazing. So thanks Eastpak, for reminding me how important it is to have a bit of perspective on all the cool stuff we all do. And if standing naked on a plinth isn't quite your thing, laying bare your SOUL (I'm so sorry) in piece of work can be just as rewarding.
And yes, in case you were wondering, I did get blackout drunk.

GOOD TASTE
I got the sickest new leopard print coat off Ebay, it's knee length, old Karen Millen and no I don't know when it became acceptable to say 'sickest' again either.
