Make Me Over

I'm sorry I'm being so useless and never updating at the moment. I have three big deadlines next week for my degree and I'm driving myself a bit crazy trying to get my papers done! I hope you're all enjoying the time off we've had this week and oh my god how beautiful was Kate's dress?! I'll leave you with Miu Miu Fall 2011 make-up and hair which has been on my mind for a while and the prolific blogger Bert will be back soon I promise! xxx

MONDAY25TH

Today I'm wearing a Markus Lupfer dress with Vans, Chanel sunglasses and my fave Viv West drawstring bag. It's so tiny you gotta wear shorts underneath to avoid MAJOR humiliation on the tube. I'm also listening to Wyclef and Mary J Blige on repeat. Summerz tho cool, just sayin.

Welcome Home

France was super fun, I bought some high-waisted teddybear print jeans from some gypsies and ate my body weight in goats cheese and organic salami. Dreamy. Me and my brother discovered this rapeseed field at the end of the garden which was full of creepy crawlies but so beautiful.

Forever 21

I got Danny this Fred Perry X Raf Simons shirt for his birthday a couple weeks ago and I so wanted to keep it for myself. It's so HaUtE.

I THINK I LOVE YOU

But why are you so expensive? I've found my perf bikini from Marc by Marc but it's £80... Just for the TOP. Sadface.

PAMELA LOVE X TOPSHOP INSTORE 19TH MAY

And I gotta say guys, as much as it breaks my heart, I don't think I'm gonna be there. The prices are high, like high enough that you could get a ring from her own line for the same price. The metal looks like everything I hoped it wouldn't, faux aged and plasticky, and the details just don't compare. Obviously you have to see it in real life to judge for sure but the dream is for now, unfortunately, over. From top: bracelet £120, bracelet £120, ring £50, necklace £80 - all pics via The Independent

Two Lost Souls

Um how beautiful are these flower crowns from Two Lost Souls and how perfect for summer? Order yours now and run around supermarkets channeling Ophelia..Courtney Love eat your heart out.

Things to know this morning.

Dr Martens have released images from their new clothing line and it's a major yawn fest. If I needed a sleeveless plaid shirt dress (which I obviously don't) I would go to H&M. And then I would kill myself via Dazed Digital

Gabriella Marina Gonzalez found inspiration for her SS11 collection of leather accessories and knitwear in the fact that We have become separated and numb to even our self-created perception of reality. The world turns on a delicate axis and we believe all is calm. The walls crumble yet we remain bellyful and oblivious, inactive, unaffected. I have no idea what she means either but I definitely want one of her jumpers. Wait.. Did she just call me fat? via Dazed Digital

My two favourite companies T4 and New Look have teamed up to find the most stylish girl in England. Street scouted girls will be pitted against one another in catwalk-offs and one will be crowned champion, but WHO WILL IT BE?! The one with the granny knits, pastel long socks, salon fresh asymmetric 'do and vintage leather satchel? The blog-savvy girl with a dip-dye, ripped black jeans and shiny Doc Martins? Miss Selfridge Mod? So tense right now. If this is anywhere near as bad as Alexa's show it's getting added straight to my hangover playlist. via ftape

Hummingbird Bakery have now made an iPhone/iPad app so you can whip up a batch of Red Velvet wherever you are in the world. Send it to a girl you don't like for her birthday and watch the pounds pile on. They do Gluten-free as well so there's no excuse.

Thanks Grazia Daily for a quick fix of Coachella outfits this morning. I gotta say I am hugely impressed by Whitney Port's 90's throwback hair style, it looks like she was channelling Lolly (remember her?). I wonder if she broke into "hey Mickey you're so fine Hey Mickey!" every couple of minutes. Somehow I'm guessing no.

Hold It Against Me

Okay sorry for the like mass regurgitation of bloggable images I've been throwing up on here in the past few days, I just haven't had time to write proper things and I keep seeing stuff I wanna show you guys. Like this street style/photography blog called Shot By Shooter. I mean how beautiful is that girl and how much do I hope my hair turns out like hers although it obviously can't because I'm not called Esperanza and I'm not a model but whatever. Oh and don't you just LOVE Gilbert and George with a cheeky daytime Smirnoff Ice? Btw I will apologise for the lazy blogging but I will never ever apologise for the Britney themed post titles. Get ready for more.

Trouble For Me

Is anyone else feeling really cheesed off with Topshop for STILL not announcing the release date for the Pamela Love collection? I mean I know I'm not the only one because last time I was in there a sweaty man ran up to the sales assistant next to me and gasped "is it here yet?!". In a word, no. And not only has it not materialized in store, but not one picture has been released apart from that dreamcatcher thing in the Vogue article like a million years ago. Do you think Pamela and Mr Green had a bit of a falling out? I hope so. Anyway. Uncool. It's not even real Pamela and I really doubt Miley's gonna be rockin' it. Sort your act out guyz.

Purple Reign

Style inspiration today comes from Facehunter, Anna Trevelyan's ridiculous candy purple hair which looks like Violet Beauregard sucked on too many purple jellybeans and an amazing street style look which looks kinda uninteresting at a glance but, like the gift that keeps on giving, is actually layered up with so many great pieces. The tights, skirt, jumper and boots together are just perfikt.

Happy Friday everyone

Please ignore my hysterical and under researched reaction to this picture. She only 'appears' to have pulled a Britney, instead (and possibly even worse for poor Pix) she will wake up to pictures like this one and wonder why on earth she decided to let Alice Dellal persuade her to wear her hair like one of the Coneheads. I know why. Do you?

P.S The new CK1 campaign crew is kindof a hot mess. Right? Or maybe just a mess...

A.E.I.O.U

I woke up to a really inspiring email from Kavita Palmer, who described her ultra ethical clothing line as a study in the creation of a Prosperity chain; an experiment to rethink how goods are produced and sold in a way that benefits everyone. We should all be conscious of where what we're buying comes from and Kavita's project serves to remind us that it's not overwhelming trying to buy ethically, actually it's as easy as click click cup of tea. I've always felt I wanted a relationship with my clothes which was more developed than 'hey shirt you look hot tonight', now thanks to I Owe You we aren't just purchasing an item we're joining it on it's own unique journey: The stories of how that item was created, of the people involved, of the customers who purchased them, are the essence of the e-commerce social network which we have built as a meeting place for a community that shares our brand values of authenticity, transparency, uniqueness and both social and environmental responsibility. Cool! The first photos from the online project emerged this morning and they're fresh and bold, unique patterns in classic shapes. Perfect summer wear. Alongside the clothes are amazing stories like the one from this girl, who paints super bright chalk murals before she goes to school everyday just, well, because why not! Do check out their facebook page for more info and I'll be sure to keep you updated on here as well. I would totally go paint a mural now but mine will suck in comparison..

SONG OF THE DAY

is Lykke Li, who must be pissed she's been topped as the Next Big Thing for like 4 years now. Hopefully this year will be for real. How amazing is this video and how beautiful is she. X

PARTY ON CALVIN

I'm not normally one to jump with excitement at the chance of hanging out in a room full of people that are way cooler and better looking than me, and the Calvin Klein X MTV Push launch at Village Underground tomorrow night will almost certainly be brimming with them. However CK knows that if everyone's willing to get drunk and party like they've known each other for, well more than 2.4 minutes, then we all win. With that in mind they've invited people who I definitely want to hang out with. Lara Stone is hosting and she's MARRIED so she must be friendly plus she used to be an alchoholic so she definitely knows how to let loose. Alice Dellal, Princess Julia and Jerry Bouthier are all going too, aswell as ummm Katy B, who I guess might let you borrow her lipgloss so that's a bonus (she wears a lot.. Like seriously, a lot). This is the first in a line of events Calvin Klein are hosting so if you can't make tomorrow then no fear, you can probably get down to one of the next ones and catch a glimpse of Professor Green's neck tattoo (yes he's totally going too). It is invitation only so I would recommend going early and either spiking or attacking the doorman. That's my plan anyway.

kRAFTY

Hi! Check out this super cute and very important video over your toast this morning and feel like you're doing something GOOD even if you're just vibing to the music. Can't wait to see the clothing.

SLOW DOWN.

Sorry for the slow couple of days, I'm having an operation tomorrow and then after that I'll be back to my usual prolific procrastinating self. Until then here are two of my favourite things from the Jak and Jil blog: Williamsburg ballers and Gwyneth Tang's excruciatingly perfect hair and jumper. I see her walking around Shoreditch sometimes when I'm in my pyjamas buying milk. I always stare. X

ROMANCE.

How great is this Whistles skirt Francesca just gave me, it's so floaty although it is pretty much fully see through but whatever. I'm wearing it with a thrifted Led Zep t-shirt and my See By Chloe boots. And REALLY BIG knickers.

MK X T

Where did you draw inspiration from for your latest Topshop collection?
Edward: There was a really early Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids reference, tones of Riot Grrrl references, My Little Pony, and every other aspect of plastic, pink, infantile-ness. The idea of girls in general, of girls being empowered by being a girl and not trying to become androgynous in pursuit of being taken seriously is what basically inspired it.

MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF X TOPSHOP X NOSTALGIA

I was really ready to not like this just because I have the navy polka dot t-shirt from their old collaboration with Topshop and I NEVER wear it, in fact I think it still has the tags in and every time I look at it I feel bad because it's a waste of rack space and head space and obviously money which I do not have. So anyway that was why I was cross with Meadham and Kirchhoff AND Topshop but actually how can I be cross when they've recreated the outfit I lived in for the entire 6th year of my life (yes the velvet leopard print leggings and polo neck from Gap Kids). Let alone the ripped up floral faded t-shirt tunic thing which I feel like you could sleep in and wear non-stop for a week and it would just improve - need it. Also who can resist Donnie Darko-esque skeleton knee highs. I know I know I wax on about not wearing knee highs but these are incredible and very Ashish and I wore skeleton tights to my 18th birthday party which was definitely not dress up so I basically have to have them.

NEW SEGMENT COZ WHITNEY IS SO ORANGE

I think I'm gonna start a TOP TRUMPS and WORST FRUMPS section just for Whitney Port's new haircolour. Fugly is my word of choice today (for those of you who don't own a Rachel Zoe dictionary that stands for @#'/ing ugly) but if I was in a more experimental mood I might say 'eww', 'gross' or 'since when did Serena's mom off Gossip Girl re-brand herself and why did she dye her hair that colour it looks whack'. Whitney obviously got drunk, went to her local Mac counter, and said "You know what girls? Go wild!". Whitney. That was a bad call.

Going The Distance

Today I'm wearing a t-shirt from Tse, trousers from Topshop, boots from See By Chloe, sunglasses from Janz and Cooper and a facial expression straight from Bratsville. I am clutching my new jumper from Tse which is the colour of mouldy toothpaste and I LOVE IT. Enjoy the sun London bbz xxx

HIYA!

Thought I'd give you guys a quick update on what's good right now:

Firstly I actually haven't worn mascara since my post denouncing it a few weeks back and boy is it a eye opener (PUN) ! Instead of caking my lashes with wierd gunge, I've been rubbing a bit of Mac 'Cyber' underneath my eye instead which for some reason makes your skin kindof glow really healthily but your eyes stay really dead and hungover - this is a good look. I have also been experimenting with an eyebrow pencil which lends a similar darkness to mascara without looking to make-uppy (definitely a word). I got mine for 99 cents in Duane Reed and I have to lick it before I use it which I'm convinced is a good thing because it's really solid so it won't smudge, or something. So basically darker eyebrows are a successful replacement for darker lashes, go try it!

Secondly summer footwear is fast approaching but don't be tempted by the lure of the plimsoll people, stick with your Doc Martens please. As much as Doc Marten would turn in his grave at the idea (I wonder if he was a qualified GP) they actually do wonders for lengthening and slimming your legs. Ok sure they rub like fuck. Deal with it.

If you can't bring yourself to wear boots which take 10 minutes to take on or off and make your feet all sweaty (amateurs) then I would recommend buying your summer shoes now (vans, reeboks, desert boots etc) and hanging them out of your window for about a month. You could also repeatedly tumble dry them or give them to your dog as a fun toy. Only rappers look good in fresh kicks, you'll do better if you look like you've been scrambling around in a bush for the last two weeks. Once I left my Vans in the sun and when I came back from swimming one of them had turned a totally different colour, it almost made me religious. Ok fine you can't really see in the picture but you know it's SUBTLE.

You might need to think about finding a swimming costume quite soon. It is virtually impossible to look good in a swimming costume especially if you're trying to work it as a trend. All I've learned from struggling with my pasty complexion and love of boys clothes is find a high waisted one for those sociable holidays when you want to look trendy (they're a total pain to tan in), a totally plain one for when you're laying out and, most importantly, NEVER allow anyone to take a picture of you.

HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY VIVIENNE!

I wish YOU were marrying Prince William, you'd be the perfect queen. Maybe try it on with Harry? THERE'S STILL TIME! Also please re-make these shoes and then send them to me. MWAH!
